New era for the traditional brand

The expansion of the product portfolio of Ritter Sport resulted in a fragmentation of the assortment on the shelf. Changes in the confectionery category in terms of variety, snackification, value orientation and sustainability presented the Ritter Sport brand with a new challenge. Not only has the definition of aesthetics changed fundamentally in recent years, but the balancing act between the established mass market and the new value-oriented niche must also be mastered.

Our goal was to help the traditional company grow across different consumption occasions and consumer needs. To achieve this, strategic guidelines were developed for the packaging architecture and design of Ritter Sport chocolate across different product groups.

Result

To give the chocolate classic a unique stand-out at the shelf, relevant consumption occasions and need moods were defined, which navigate the consumer within the product categories via visual codes. The result was then translated into the entire portfolio structure of Ritter Sport .

The result: an iconic, fresh design in an intense colour scheme that both emphasises the unique brand properties of the Ritter Sport brand and serves a coherent brand presence.
